Yodel colleagues show support for South Sefton Foodbank with generous donation
Colleagues at parcel carrier Yodel’s Liverpool head office have donated a generous amount of food and household products to the South Sefton Foodbank in Bootle, north Liverpool.
South Sefton Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. The foodbank provides three days’ of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to the foodbank in a crisis. With Yodel’s generous donation, they can continue this important work.
Debbie Shelley MBE, Manager at St Leonard’s Youth and Community Centre, said: “We work hard to provide essential food and household items to those in need and we are able to continue doing so thanks to the support of people in the area and local businesses like Yodel. We gave out over ten thousand food parcels last year to the local community and this generous donation will make a real difference.”
Gemma Downey, Network Support Services Manager at Yodel, commented: “As the cost-of-living spirals and a growing number of people struggling to provide for their families, we wanted to give back to the local community and help those who need it most. “The team at Yodel Atlantic Pavilion are like a family and rallied all the departments to contribute to our charity drive. We will continue to collect donations throughout the year and we look forward to working with the foodbank again in the future.”
