Yodel colleague celebrates 30-year anniversary at Willenhall
Tony has been in his current role as transport shift manager for 14 years and has enjoyed the many challenges he has faced as part of this team. On a daily basis the team manage drivers covering collections and trunking jobs, to ensure that customer collections are handled on time and in a professional manner.
Tony joined Yodel’s parcel sorting centre in 1990 as a sorter loader driver, originally working out of Birmingham Airport before moving on to Coventry Airport in 1992. Responsible for a range of different client contracts, Tony sorted the shipments that were brought in by plane and distributed the parts to various sort centres. Tony continued his work at the Oldbury Terminal as supervisor on the freight night shift before moving into the transport office in 1996.
To celebrate his milestone, the team at Willenhall presented Tony with £900 in Very.co.uk vouchers.
Tony Welch, Transport Shift Manager at Willenhall said: “I can honestly say that my time with the company has been brilliant and this has been down to the people I have met and worked with over the years. I have the pleasure of running the afternoon shift at Wednesbury and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their loyalty, commitment and hard work.”
Drew Evans, Regional Transport Manager at Willenhall Yodel added: “Tony has shown tremendous dedication to the business over the years and we’re excited to celebrate his 30-year anniversary with him. Tony is fully deserving of this recognition and represents the great team spirit that Yodel is built on.”
