Yodel colleagues support Selby toy appeal and Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People
Colleagues at parcel carrier Yodel’s Selby customer delivery depot have donated over £1000 worth of toys and household products to Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People, and gifts to the pupils at Barwic Parade School.
Martin House provides family-led care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The hospice supports families from across West, North and East Yorkshire, both at the hospice and in the community. The families are at the heart of everything it does, valuing each member as an individual with their own needs. With Yodel’s generous donation, Martin House can continue this important work.
Barwic Parade School in Selby strives to make their school a place where everyone is encouraged to reach for and achieve their potential, leaving them equipped and empowered for the next stage of their learning journey. Yodel colleagues from the Selby depot chose students at Barwic Parade School to receive the gifts.
Andrew Holden, customer delivery depot manager at Yodel, said: “Gathering all the donations was a team effort, designed to support those in need in the wider community of Selby. It has been rewarding to see all the colleagues getting involved in our appeal and the response has been amazing. We hope that our efforts will make a difference to the local community.”
Emily Sharman, regional fundraiser at Martin House , said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Yodel for its generous donation. We support more than 420 families every year, and the support of companies like Yodel makes a big difference to us.”
Sarah Dixon, Headteacher at Barwic Parade School , said: “We were delighted that our friends at Yodel decided to support our school by giving each child a gift on our last day of the term. We as a school really do value the support local businesses give to school is a time of financial austerity. Gestures like this really do make a difference to Barwic pupils.”
