Yodel colleagues show support for North Liverpool Foodbank with generous donation
North Liverpool Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. The foodbank provides three days’ of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to the foodbank in a crisis. With Yodel’s generous donation, North Liverpool Foodbank can continue this important work.
Jodie McEvoy, Director of People Services at Yodel, said: “Gathering all the donations was a team effort, designed to support those in need in the wider community of Liverpool. It has been rewarding to see all the colleagues in our Liverpool head office getting involved in our appeal - the response has been amazing. We look forward to working with the foodbank again in the future.”
Samantha Stapley, Director of Operations at the Trussell Trust , said: “Every year our network of food banks sees a spike in need during the winter. What we’re hearing from the frontline suggests this year food banks will see just as many, if not more, people referred for help.
“Foodbanks will be working hard to provide not only essential food, but also little extras that offer hope at a time when people need it most. This can only be done with the support of people and businesses in local communities, so we’re very grateful for support for food banks like this. It will make a huge difference – thank you.”
