Yodel colleague celebrates 30-year milestone anniversary
Yodel’s Sandwell customer delivery depot congratulates Ian Lillis as he celebrates 30 years with the UK independent parcel carrier
Ian Lillis, a colleague of the company since 1989 has been working for Yodel in the West Midlands since he was 28. He initially started as a Microfilmer at the Summit Crescent Depot, before moving to the Sandwell Depot as a Sorter Loader.
Since 1990, Ian has been based at Yodel’s customer delivery depot in Sandwell. His role as a forklift driver involves moving cages of parcels, the shrink wrapping of pallets, and ensuring that the correct parcels are in the right place and ready for drivers to load onto their vans. This guarantees that parcels leave on time for safe delivery to customers and helps make the changeover shift between AM and PM as smooth as possible.
To celebrate his anniversary, Warren Fletcher, Service Centre Manager, presented Ian with £350 of Littlewoods vouchers, Yodel branded merchandise and some chocolates.
Forklift driver, Ian Lillis, commented : “I have enjoyed my 30 years at Yodel where I have gained so much knowledge. The team at Sandwell has become like a family, every colleague at the depot has played a part in my wonderful experience at the company. We all help each other and share our experiences. I am looking forward to sharing many more fond memories with my co-workers and working my way to my next milestone!”
Julian Evans, Lead Team Manager, Yodel added: “Ian is a crucial member of the team at Sandwell as he plays a vital role in making sure that the drivers get out on the road to do their deliveries on time. He approaches every day with a smile and is always willing to help his colleagues out. We are delighted to mark this special work anniversary and hope there are many more years to come!”
