Yodel’s IT double win!
IT team crowned ‘Best Tech Team Of The Year’ at the National Technology Awards 2017 on the same evening they claim ‘Outstanding Data Management Solution’ at Big Data & IoT Excellence Awards
The IT team at independent parcel carrier, Yodel, has won two national awards on the same night. The team collected the coveted ‘Best Tech Team Of The Year’ honour at last Wednesday’s National Technology Awards and the ‘Outstanding Data Management Solution’ accolade at the Big Data & IoT Excellence Awards.
The ‘Best Tech Team Of The Year’ award was given for the Liverpool-based team’s work on a strategic transformation project, carried out while simultaneously maintaining the more traditional systems and technologies already running Yodel’s operation.
Yodel’s Adam Gerrard, who recently featured in CIO Magazine’s ‘top 100 CIOs’ list, was also shortlisted for CIO of the Year at the National Technology Awards. Accountable for driving Yodel’s digital agenda, data use & analytics, information strategy, innovation and the technology infrastructure of the business, Adam has transformed the IT infrastructure to increase data control and reporting, improve employee engagement and enhance product competitiveness – all through the innovative use of technology.
Mike Cooper, CEO at Yodel, said: “I’m delighted that our IT team has received the recognition they deserve for their consistently diligent and ground-breaking work. The team, headed up by Adam, has been instrumental in the continued transformation of Yodel, and the development of key technologies which are enabling us to make further service innovations.”
Coincidentally both awards were held on 17 May at the Millennium Hotel London Mayfair and Hilton Tower Bridge, London respectively. This is the second national Team of the Year award that the department has scooped, having already been awarded the UK IT Industry Awards’ IT Team of the Year in November last year.
