SMRS and Yodel celebrate their win at the 2016 RAD Awards
Recruitment communications agency SMRS and parcel carrier Yodel were delighted to receive the Best Print Advertisement Award at the coveted RAD Awards, which recognise the best talent in recruitment communications from across the UK.
The two companies were recognised for their campaign, which delivered an idea based on the news that Chris Evans was looking for new drivers for Top Gear. The concept and design were both developed in just one day, as the news was still trending across the web.
The print advert featured prominently in The Sun and was easily noticeable with bold and fun imagery. The reaction was immediate with a 43% increase in user visits to Yodel’s careers site compared to the previous day, along with a 20% increase in new users engaging on the site.
Sarah Sturgess, agency director at SMRS, commented: “What a fantastic feeling it was to win this RAD Award with Yodel. This is a great example of the success of real-time marketing, creative thinking and excellent teamwork and communication between SMRS and Yodel.”
Speaking on behalf of Yodel, Lynne Graham, the carrier’s people director, added; “The campaign ran just before our peak Christmas period and enabled us to capture the details of hundreds of applicants and get them on board, and trained up ahead of the festive rush. SMRS’ creative and collaborative approach with our in-house team ensured a great result and I’m delighted that we’ve been recognised in this way.”
The RAD Award was presented at the awards ceremony dinner, which was hosted by comedian Rob Brydon, at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
