Sam wins big with YodelDirect
Cycling fan, Sam Lichy, 20, a second year Maths student at the University of York, received a bumper parcel of goodies from Yodel's YodelDirect courier services when she won its Friends Life Tour of Britain competition on Twitter.
The delivery was made by Yodel, the UK's leading independent parcel carrier, and official sprints sponsor and logistics partner to the Tour of Britain. On hand to personally present the special package was Tour of Britain mascot, ToBi, who was dressed in a striking YodelDirect sprints jersey.
The parcel contained over 50 items of Tour related prizes including:-
A YodelDirect Women's Tour Jersey signed by inaugural Women's Tour winner, Dutch cyclist Marianne Vos
- A 2014 Skoda King of the Mountains jersey
- Pearl Izumi arm warmers
- Dare2b Tour of Britain bag
- Cycling Tour of Britain socks
Sam started following YodelDirect, Yodel's door-to-door consumer parcel courier service, ideal for online marketplace sellers and SMEs, on Twitter to keep up to date with the Friends Life Tour of Britain. She spotted that it was running a social media competition with exclusive, limited edition and signed cycling goodies up for grabs.
"I thought why not, I may have a chance of winning," said Sam.
On finding out that she'd won the bumper pack of merchandise, Sam said: "I was ecstatic. I had just come in from a ride with the Uni cycling team and I saw the Twitter message that I'd won - I couldn't really comprehend it!"
Sam received the merchandise from ToBi, the official Tour of Britain mascot and Wayne Hoskins from Yodel's Selby service centre (see image) at the York Sport Velodrome.
