Daily Mail clarification
You may be aware of claims that appeared in the Daily Mail in the run up to Christmas stating Yodel had a backlog of 750,000 parcels. As was stated in previous communications this was not true with only c3,000 parcels left undelivered on Christmas Eve, many of these parcels having had multiple delivery attempts.
The Daily Mail has published today (Tuesday 3rd of January 2012) a clarification on page 2 to confirm this was not accurate. The text of the clarification can be found below along with a link to the Daily Mail website.
"A recent article quoted an insider at delivery firm Yodel who suggested that there could be a backlog of up to 750,000 packages at its depots that might not be delivered in time for Christmas.
"Yodel informs us, and we accept, that by the end of Christmas Eve it had around 3,100 undelivered packages, and that several attempts had been made to deliver the majority of these.
"We are happy to set the record straight."
