Yodel supports Mothercare's three day charity bike ride
Yodel, the UK’s leading parcel delivery company, joined forces with Mothercare to support the retailers’ Born to Care campaign, which aims to raise £1.75 million for Save the Children to help save and improve children's lives, both in the UK and across the globe.
Mothercare put together a team of twelve keen cyclists, who took to their bikes to raise money for the campaign, setting off from Southampton on 27 May and finishing 220 miles away in Mansfield on the 29 May.
Yodel helped the cyclists by transporting essential food and water supplies throughout the three day trip, with a striking green Yodel van leading the team throughout their endeavour.
James Miles, Head of Group Fulfilment, Mothercare, commented; "The event was an absolute success. We raised more than £12,500 for the Born to Care campaign. Having Yodel on board was great. It demonstrated to the team that Yodel is fully committed to our business even outside of our daily distribution needs."
Adam Smith, Yodel's Marketing Director added; "Yodel is already aligned with cycling events through our partnership with the Tour of Britain, so this was a natural association for us. We were delighted to be able to support Mothercare and help them to raise such a fantastic sum of money for a very worthy cause."
Established as the number one retailer for mums to be and parents alike, Mothercare offers a wide selection of everything parents need and anything a child could want.
Yodel handles over two million parcels a year for Mothercare and its sister company Early Learning Centre. The distribution company's network of local couriers offers flexible delivery options to ensure items are delivered when people are most likely to be at home - perfect for Mothercare's customer base of busy parents.
