This year we hosted our second annual CSR Supplier Awards, created to reward our suppliers that have shown best practice and extraordinary efforts in three of our key areas within CSR; Community, Environment and Innovation.
Yodel has a strong focus on working with ethically and morally sound suppliers who reflect our own values.
This year's awards were hosted by Jason Lowry, Director of Procurement and Sam Holden, Chief Commercial Officer.
Let's take a look at this year's winners!
Trimble
Trimble Maps were awarded our CSR Supplier Award for Innovation, for their ongoing commitment to develop and improve on their industry leading products. Trimble were responsible for the creation and deployment of the first Yodel Driver and Courier app, released in 2018. At the time this was the first solution available within the market to track parcels and has now become industry standard practice within the logistics space.
Thanks to the long standing partnership with Trimble, Yodel have benefited from improved route optimisation, reducing miles on the road along with a significant reduction in time spent route-planning, enabling more efficient driver tours.
Guernsey Post
Guernsey Post took home our Environmental CSR Supplier Award. Guernsey Post received this award, which recognises efforts being undertaken to reduce impact on our environment whilst continuing to grow and build on service. Their commitment to using more efficient and environmentally methods of delivery, through their Project Green Fleet, saw the separation of letter and parcel networks, resulting in a combined greener delivery network.
Over the years, Guernsey Post have seen their CO2 emissions fall by 53%, and have also installed, what at the time, was the largest solar array within the Channel Islands.
Zebra Technologies
We awarded Zebra with our Community CSR Award for their partnership with Bernie's Book Bank, a charity that aims to provide children with the donation of high quality books, allowing them to gain knowledge and strengthen their reading skills.
Zebra also focuses extensively on their employees' wellbeing through their annual 'Z day', where employees can take a day off work to look after their mental and physical health. Zebra also offer a wealth of internal support groups including Women's Inclusion Network (WIN) and Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE).
AST Signs
AST were awarded this year's Sustainable Supplier Award. AST have made astounding strides in the environmental space over the past few years, managing to reduce their carbon footprint year on year since 2011. This year AST achieved the incredible and succeeded in their mission to become carbon neutral. Furthermore, they have fitted 325 solar panels to their HQ this year, which is predicted to save 23 tonnes of carbon.
